The Driffield Art Club Annual Exhibition was held at the beginning of October at the ‘The Exchange’ by courtesy of Messrs. Dee, Atkinson & Harrison.

This year our special guest artist/judge was the Yorkshire artist Heather Burton, who kindly gave up her time to carefully evaluate and judge the artworks and paintings submitted by members. The winners were announced during the preview evening held the Monday before the exhibition formally opened to the public. As each trophy was awarded, Heather gave a detailed insight into her decision making process and the reasons for choosing each category winner.

At the end of the award ceremony, Duncan Baird, our new club Chairman, summarised the evenings proceedings by thanking Heather for her time and efforts, and praised the committee and art club members for taking part and making the exhibition such a great success.

Of course at the end of the day, as Heather Burton said, we are all winners because we enjoy making art. So without further ado, here are this years (official) winning entries:

The Ainley Trophy for Guest Artists Choice was awarded to Sue Mountain for her artwork ‘Hedgerow’.
